4 Reasons to Order Additional Copies of Your Credential Evaluation Report

WES Staff | September 17, 2025

If you live in the United States or Canada and earned your degree in another country, you may find that a credential evaluation can be helpful when you’re trying to secure a spot in an academic program or a job in your desired field.

A credential evaluation report provides and describes the U.S. or Canadian equivalency of your international education so that institutions and organizations can properly assess your education against their requirements. But once you’ve ordered your report, should you consider getting additional copies?

Yes—and here’s why.

1. Multiple copies to pursue multiple opportunities

When you’re applying to several universities, employers, or licensing boards, you will likely find that each organization requires its own official copy of your evaluation. In other words, it’s unlikely that an institution would accept a photocopy of your report or the unofficial PDF copy provided in your WES account. Being prepared by having additional copies of your official report on hand can save you time and stress when deadlines are tight.

Pro tip: Many academic institutions, immigration offices, and employers require official evaluation reports to be sent to them in a sealed envelope—especially if they do not accept reports via secure digital channels. Remember to order copies of your report in sealed envelopes if you plan to submit them at a later date.

2. Preparing for the future

Your credential evaluation can help you reach multiple milestones in your academic and professional life. You might need an evaluation report again for:

  • Graduate school applications
  • Career changes or promotions
  • Immigration processes
  • Professional licensing

Ordering additional copies ensures that you’re prepared for whatever comes next. Plus, our reports have a lifetime value, so you never have to worry about an expiration date.

3. Peace of mind

Documents can get lost, damaged, or accidentally destroyed. Having additional copies means you won’t have to rush to reorder one when you need it most.

4. Save on time and fees

Ordering extra copies with your initial request can be more efficient and cost-effective, especially when you order the Basic package. Learn more about our packages and pricing.

When should you order additional copies?

Here are times when you could consider ordering additional copies:

  • At the time of your initial order: As noted above, this is the easiest and most efficient time to request extra copies of your report.
  • When applying to new opportunities: If you didn’t order any additional copies with your original report, you can always return to your WES account to purchase extra copies.
  • Before moving or traveling: Keep a copy with you and store another safely in case of unexpected needs.
